Day 1 Focussed Clinical Breastfeeding Support
Day 2 Focussed Management of Cry-fuss and Sleep Problems

We invite you to join our Masterclasses in Neuroprotective Developmental Care ($500 total) 5-6 May 2018 in Melbourne: “Focussed clinical breastfeeding support” and “Focussed management of cry-fuss and sleep problems”.
Now you can participate in the NDC Masterclasses even if you are not yet ready to sign up to the whole NDC Accreditation Pathway.

RACGP 80 Category 1 points (2 x ALMs) - applications with ACM and IBCLE pending.

The days will be intimate and intensive. Numbers are capped so that our groups remain small, giving you opportunities to practice skills and raise questions. We’ll include real-time ultrasound imaging of a breastfeeding pair with Associate Professor Donna Geddes (Human Lactation Research Group UWA), who’ll also report on her latest study concerning the efficacy of frenotomy. We’ll explore the new gestalt model of the biomechanics of infant suck and swallow which is overturning conventional understandings of clinical breastfeeding support. Professor Laurence Walsh, School of Dentistry, UQ, will discuss infant oral connective tissues, wound healing, and laser frenotomy.

This is a rare opportunity to hone very practical evidence-based clinical skills in gestalt breastfeeding support with Dr Pamela Douglas and her team and to master its implications for a surprisingly wide set of breastfeeding problems. It’s also an opportunity to master practical, step-by-step management skills for infant cry-fuss and sleep problems. Our education days are unique in their focus on effective and practical clinical skills for time-constrained consultations.
